Woke up to Sweetie barking incessantly because of the carpet men. I got up in time to see the damage the cat had done. Half of the carpet was covered. Even the molding is going to have to be replaced. On top of that, she went there last night too, despite the fact that her litter box was completely clean. I felt really bad about having to give her up last night, but at this point I didn't care anymore. As soon as we found her, Mom and I drove her out to the animal shelter. Came back and spent most of the day sweeping and then mopping the basement with bleach. Tomorrow I will paint it with a sealant, let that dry over the weekend and then hopfully the new carpet will come in Monday, just in time to get the basement straghtened up before Brandon's parents get here.

Brandon had an interview with the church. He said they were really impressed with his resume. If he were hired, he'd be making close to $300 every two weeks. It's not a lot, but it's not bad after almost a year of nothing.

We have taken exactly one order this morning, albeit a 2 page monster worth almost $200, and I have managed to fuck it up by forgetting to fax it in until 20 minutes before it needs to be picked up. Let's hope the Beltline can pull off a miracle.

Diet is still going well. I was a little bad a couple of nights ago because I was just really fucking hungry. So I had a bowl of knock-off Fruit Loops with Brandon. And then decided that I needed to eat 3 servings of crackers with a quarter of a tub of cream cheese. But I didn't do too much damage and was good yesterday. I think Sunday I might treat myself to some homemade vegan ice cream, though, since I found an ice cream maker on sale at Meijer's for %7.50.

Mom is taking Sweetie to the vet. She couldn't walk all day yesterday and still can't today. She suspects Brandon kicked her, but I know he didn't. She is convinced that the dog has a broken bone, but I think it would have swollen up some by now if that was the case. Hopefully it's nothing too serious and the vet can get her right. I'll admit the dog can piss me off at times too, but I don't want her to have to die. I'd just like for her to shut up when the baby is sleeping.

I guess it's time to update this since I've had it for a week. I finally got my contacts today. Love them! It's so weird being able to see myself without glasses, in focus.

Brandon heard back from the school about the apartment and we can move in as soon as the current tenants move out. I'm honestly pretty stunned about that. I thought they would say we didn't make enough. It's going to be hard, but I think we can do it. Brandon will be doing a work study thing, so that will help. Maybe we'll be eligible for food stamps, too. If it comes down to it, I'll donate plasma or something. At least I'll be living in Grand Rapids, so I'll be able to take some photography classes at GRCC if we can afford it.

Today is day three and i'm still sticking to my diet pretty good. The vegan cookbooks I ordered from the library finally came in yesterday, and I tried the roasted mushrooms recipe out of the Veganomicon. It is AMAZING. I'm going to try to eat mostly vegan for right now and go totally veg when we move out and I'm cooking all my own food. Mom bought a rotisserie chicken for dinner, so I had some of the breast without the skin, but I did try roasting some broccoli out of the book, using salt, pepper, and olive oil from a spray bottle. It was pretty darn good, too. I've only ever eaten broccoli steamed or raw, which tends to be kind of bland. Roasting gives it a nice flavor without being too mushy.
